The National Red Cross - Red Crescent Societies, as in every disaster and emergency, are at the forefront of the fight against the COVID - 19 outbreak that affects the whole world and the healthcare systems of countries in particular. In these difficult days, we believe that sharing experience between the National Societies fighting COVID - 19 is critical and vital.

Turkey is one of the several countries that has launched "Convalescent Plasma Donation Operations" as an investigational treatment for COVID – 19, in the world.  The Turkish Red Crescent is the primary partner undertaking responsibility in the process. We outlined the process and translated the documents on Convalescent Plasma Donation Experience of the Turkish Red Crescent, into English, French, and Arabic.   

In particular, we think that it will be highly beneficial for the National Societies that have Blood Donation Infrastructure, to use the convalescent Plasma Donation Operations for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. 

As OIC Red Network Secretariat, we will gladly answer the demands and questions of the National Societies that need technical support in this regard. We continue to release the Experiences of Member National Societies in different fields into circulation, to improve the capacities of member National Societies, as one of the most important reasons for the existence of the OIC Red Network.
