49 Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies gathered in Istanbul, Turkey to establish the OIC Red Network of the Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) the Member States.

The Network, inspired and guided by the fundamental principles enshrined in the Movement Statues and the IFRC’s Constitution, takes on a collaborative approach to complement the efforts of its members to provide a collective response in addressing the growing humanitarian challenges faced by National Societies within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) the Member States.

In an intensive 2-day meeting, a collaborative spirit brought forth valuable and diverse inputs to outline the OIC Red Network’s role in supporting and strengthening National Societies’ work in the OIC Member States. Throughout a series of sessions centered on exchanging experience and expertise, the meetings provided a multitude of recommendations.
